Apparently there was an intelligent rock hopper penguin who featured on a TV programme earlier in the week. He made it into the Bishop’s sermon last night. He wasn’t satisfied with shuffling around to get a few drops of water under the waterfall, along with his fellow rock hopper mates. Apparently it wasn’t because he was giving up shoulder barging, like the super league rugby players, but he understood that a power shower was available if he could access the water at a higher level.
Nothing wrong with the shared water, but it is refreshing to put some effort in, get away from the crowd and the routine, and get soaked. If all you ever know is shared showers, you may not realise you can have access to your own supply.
But, whether in church, sat on your settee, or in a group, sharing fellowship with friends, it is the access to the Word of God, through the Holy Spirit, touching and transforming your life and perspectives, that showering is all about.
Have a drenchful day.
