We are now over half-way in the holiday club. Buzz Brain, rather like Dr Potty of old, is already a part of All Saints folklore – at least in the minds of the leaders!
Space Academy is an event. You can’t describe it very easily, because you would have to look at it from different points of view, and try and synthesize all you would see. What the children see, experience and take away is not the same as the leaders. What is observed in the parent’s room, what exchanges of significant conversation occur as lego models are built, what gets reported at home is all part of the event. It is such fertile ground for little seeds to take root, and for shoots to spring out and break ground.
And where else do you see the church functioning, smoothly, for five consecutive days – if not seven – on all cylinders?
Like I said, it is too big, too multi-facetted to contain.
She has a lot to answer for, that Boyd with her husband.
But you do realise, don’t you, that when the church gathers, for fellowship, it should be a meeting that is too big to contain, multi-facetted and an event involving many contributions and outcomes.
I do think that actually happens when we meet – we just may not clock that what happens at the fringes is integral, not incidental.
And I do think we have become comfortable with Holy Spirit’s ripples and waves, and want more.
