Well, back at the On Your Marks Holiday Club we were playing I Spy on mountains, cycling up mountains, and generally considering how things look from up there.
Peter James and John (next door neighbour carry on) got quite a different view than what they were expecting when Jesus invited them to accompany him on just this sort of sortie. He was transfigured and had a chat with Moses and Elijah, as well as hearing the Father declaring his pleasure in His Son.
Not an easy story to present to youngsters, but they will remember it, and also remember considering how they would have reacted, and what it means about who Jesus is. The historical Jesus, but also the Jesus who is loved by those at Holiday Club.
In my little group representing the other side of the pond a prayer for healing was answered, and also prayer for an Aston Martin – the two lads who prayed for that both saw them on the way home, and both made a connection with their prayer!
All part of the hustle and bustle.
You might like to pass around the pencil sharpener at home and likewise ask Jesus for the thing that you would ask him for if he was passing…
