I wonder what the most important thing is in learning to play the piano.
Is it a) Long fingers; b) Good tuition; c) Persistence; d) Natural talent; e) Love of Music?
It may be several of the above, or none. I’m only musing.
I was taught to play the accordion, and stopped as soon as tuition finished. I didn’t practise, I wasn’t interested, it had no real purpose in my life. When I eventually did want to play it, with time I did re-discover and gain fluency in most of what I had been taught many years previously. For me it was e) that proved pivotal.
So what about the Christian life? Which of the above is the key to fruitfulness?
Put it another way, since we rarely give ourselves credit, think of someone whose faith you admire – what do you think is the reason it works for them?
And if you think it is Long Fingers, please blog and let me know why!
