One of the things that happened last weekend was that a group of people from elsewhere came and set up home in the church hall, and lived there for 24 hours. They brought with them all the material and tools they needed to set up prayer booths. They were our guests, but as we entered the prayer room, they became our hosts – though you may not even have noticed them, unless you were welcomed personally, and accepted the offer of refreshment.
But, as they fulfilled their God-given role faithfully, you may not even remember them. They were there so that you could encounter God in prayer. Open up new channels in your prayer life. Find answers, or simply address questions that surfaced as you journeyed through.
The Team were not paid, though their testimony was that they went away very blessed by their own encounters with God as they served anyone who came.
It was not completely new. Hannah and Karen have introduced this to us before. And we welcomed it.
There will be more opportunities. This was clear from our discussions at PCC last night.
We all want to gather regularly for effective, creative, God-touching prayer.
And we’ll let you know where the Team will next set up their prayer booths, so you can encounter God elsewhere too.
Thank you to all you door-opening people.
