A few months ago I’d never heard of Ruskin’s View. It’s in capitals because it is a place in Kirkby Lonsdale where you can overlook the Lune and see the view that Turner conveyed to canvas, of which Ruskin commented ‘I do not know in all my own country, still less in France or Italy, a place more naturally divine.’ And so renowned it has become.
I’ve been many times now since the Kendalls told me about it, and indeed we have introduced friends to it, as on Saturday.
However, there are a few other things at Ruskin’s View, including the tree and railings in the photo opposite. We wondered whether there would be a photo of it to Google_Search_And_Find, and indeed there is! A suggestion was made that, no doubt, it would be appearing in a blog soon. Well, I told them there was no chance of that.
However, it was a good idea, but just not for me.
So, fellow bloggers, here’s a picture of a tree that has grown around a set of railings. What’s the message?
Look forward to finding out…
