I remember tapping out a blog in a hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon. I hadn’t been blogging long – it was sometime early last year – and it was a novelty to be able to do this from somewhere other than home.
It had come together well, all there ready to publish, hit the appropriate button – and it all went blank. I’d lost the signal, hadn’t been saving the draft copy as I went along, and there was nothing there!
Needless to say, I have changed my habits!
The blog got re-written from memory, after I had forgiven myself.
We are not always in a place where there is a good God signal. You can usually tell that though, communication breaks up, things need repeating, and listening is more effort.
Forgiveness is usually the best way to move to get a better signal – whether it is forgiving others, yourself, or even God.
Having the habit of blogging develops good habits to blog.
So it is with prayer.
I wonder if old Shaky knew that?
This happened to me on a grant application form last week – twice! aarrgghh!
Luckily prayer is a lot easier, finding the right words is easier as I have learnt there are no right and wrong ways to pray. Let the words flow and you will be surprised where it leads you, what topics, what you find yourself praying about.
Suddenly the grant application didn’t seem so bad! And it went in eventually…..
