I like seeing people’s photos of where they have been. I enjoy the fact that a lot of people I know have a good eye for a photograph – particularly when it isn’t the obvious thing they have snapped.
There are brilliant photos to be seen on the Internet. Too many almost. But seeing one that has been taken by someone you know is different. It sort of gives you a connection with the place, because you know the person who has been three, stood, and actually witnessed that point of view. It makes it more real than a stranger’s or professional’s shot.
You probably can think of someone you respect because they can describe Jesus, who you know, in a compelling and vibrant way. They can produce a great picture. They can describe what they have seen in a way that brings the truth of Jesus to life.
But what about you? What picture do you draw of Jesus? How do you describe the one you have come to love and respect as Rescuer and Friend?
To people who know you, your picture is more useful than any professionals, even Billy Graham’s! If you feel inhibited in even sharing it, then you need to tell yourself off. It is unique and valuable.
Maybe you need to write down what you know of Jesus. I don’t mean theology.Well, I mean not a string of facts about him.
Start with why you love him. How you got to know him. What frustrates you about him.
Let people stand and see the Jesus you love. Your picture will be more compelling than anyone else’s.
Please share them. We’d love to see them.
