Do young people enjoy homework?
It’s thought of as a chore, something to be avoided. A way to extend lessons beyond the school hours? Something to make parents think their child is making progress – something to keep their children busy?
But what is it supposed to be for?
Learning is about gaining understanding and wisdom. And sometimes you need time to stop, ponder the loose ends we have picked up today, and make connections. I think this is the key work of the Holy Spirit. Fear of God (allowing that sense of awe) is the beginning of wisdom.
So how about giving yourself enough time to do this kind of homework?
