So how has this holiday club been different from previous ones?
Well, we’ve been fully booked before we started. That’s new. But not everyone turned up, so people who ended up on the waiting list will, hopefully, join us tomorrow.
Because it’s been on a sporting theme, we decided yellow and red cards might be a good idea. That’s new. But we didn’t have even one yellow card. Well, not having to help someone realise their behaviour could do with changing is new!
But, apart from that, I think it is all rather familiar. Worship songs that engage and excite young people. An intriguing and engaging slant on the bible – and young people’s enthusiasm in engaging with it. Games and choices to meet everyones needs -making, playing, learning or just using energy!
And, we are perhaps seeing the latest successor to the legacy of Dr Potty, Mr Tagliatelle and Salt and Peppa? Will it be Ikeyah, or Iva Mopp? And then there’s Mrs TIP. Or that dashing Michael?
The theme was being a Team today, and I thought it was taught and modelled. Tomorrow it is Miracles. No reason why it won’t be the same.
