Was reading an article earlier today. The lady being interviewed referred a few times to people who ‘parade their religion.’
I guess she is referring to people who use the fact of their religion, or religious position, to reinforce and back up their point of view. At the same time highlighting their religion. And I would say hoping that their stance portrays their religion in a positive way, that may draw others to it.
For her it is a disparaging term, because she believes it has the opposite effect of all those aims.
So, if parading your religion doesn’t do it, then what does?
How about intriguing?
Saying an opinion that isn’t obvious, that changes perspectives, that makes you ask where that idea comes from. Being creative, listening with respect, asking caring questions in return. And most of all being loving, gracious, and honest. And owning up to loving and respecting God.
Go on. Intrigue.
