Sometimes starting a blog can be a little like playing ‘I Spy.’ I need something to start with. I was going to say that it is a little like needing a piece of grit to start a pearl, but I would need to hastily add that this pearl factory does not always produce items of great spiritual wisdom and value – though something worth reading I hope.
(And I’m not fishing for compliments here, so don’t start putting them on board!!)
Usually it is something that has caught my eye, and I remember it when sat at the laptop. I start, and then see where I end up.
It’s a bit like prayer really.
You need to decide to begin, expect to engage with God as the intentions form into words, and see where you end up.
For every thought you have, there will be a response in your spirit, and an ensuing dialogue.
This is what makes prayer an adventure. It may start with familiar patterns, but inevitably takes on unexpected detours which become important destinations.
But really I’m writing about blogging. Lilian, Ethel, Sandra are diverse and perfect bloggers – chat seemingly naturally, but effortlessly touch on deep things. Why don’t you just have a chat with your fingers on the keys – like Anne has just done – and see what comes. Like in prayer. You then decide if you want to post it.
But you have to start that first sentence, without knowing what will come next…
