2000 people in the Ballroom at the Tower, with probably 100 who weren’t allowed in, sadly. There wasn’t room!
Why did we come?
Probably for a whole host of reasons, but at the root of it for everyone is Jesus. I’m sure, among the many people there, there were many different relationships and understanding of Jesus, but all had the chance to see the Jesus John Sentamu has experienced and continues to walk with.
He spent some time commanding his glove to pick up a handkerchief. He coaxed it, gave it an Archbishop’s blessing, but to no avail. Placing his fingers inside it, it could flap about, but it still was no real use.
He explained that only when someone is filled with Jesus, the reality of Jesus, can that life, that glove, function as it is meant to.
It looked to me like 50 or more people, of all ages, came forward at the end to acknowledge that they wanted to receive Jesus, and were duly prayed with.
Many thanks, ArchBish John. Feel free to share Jesus with us again soon.
