Why would someone stop at the end of the drive in a remote part of Wales, and feel compelled to go along it, and enquire of the hosts why it is they have arrived there?
No, it isn’t runner for the next Dr Who episode. It is a question to which I will learn the answer as I delve into this book I’ve just started. The Grace Outpouring. I can already see why it was first recommended, and then bought.
It is what we hope will happen when people pass our chairs in Cleveleys on a Saturday morning. They will feel invited or compelled to sit down, to receive what they are not sure, but know this is where they should be. (I’m referring to Healing on the Streets, something we offer with other churches, 10.30-12.30)
It has happened as people have come in to church and fellowshipped with us, not sure why they are here.
It happens on Alpha courses, even when we know it will, and expect it to.
The kingdom of God is at hand, just like Jesus declared when he walked around.
Stick around with the people who seem to have it stuck to their being.
But learn to surrender, surrender in the little things that are asked of you, so you too become a Holy Spirit magnet.
