One of the BAFTA categories is Make Up and Hair. You get one of those metal shield mask things, a walk onto the stage, and a chance to make a memorable speech for Hair in your film or TV programme.
It is odd how some things come into prominence, allow their importance to be recognised, and then become institutionalised!
Perhaps I write partially from jealousy – having no flowing locks of my own to speak of. Can you do baldish so artistically it might merit an OSCAR? There’s a challenge.
There are rewards mentioned in the Bible, in at least one place. CROWNS. But I don’t think it’s an acronym. They are a reward for ‘overcoming.’ I guess that means holding on to what is true, while encountering people who can’t see it. Not being daunted by the discomfort, and watching others come to see the light as you hold firm.
Now there’s a lifetime achievement.
