Good evening. As ever, as soon as I open the laptop to tickle the keys, along pops the cat to purr and encourage – but really to get me to scratch his head.
Youth Club have gone home, the building has a little respite, but no Saturday off. We have at least 70 ladies accepting Caroline’s invitation to be at Bliss (I choose my words carefully) tomorrow. It is good that people are drawn together in God’s name, and not just on Sunday. We come for different reasons when it’s not for expected worship, and so God is able to engage us in worship in unexpected ways.
I didn’t manage to get to the short talk at Youth Club today – two other things begged my attention. It seemed to go on a long time today, and even then I could see people seemed to be engaged and not restless, even in overtime. And Big John came out declaring ‘that made coming to Youth Club all these years worthwhile!’ Big beam on his face, almost like he’d just returned from a Billy Graham gig.
Well, you’ll have to ask him why – because I wasn’t there, remember.
But I will tell you what little more I know. The talk was by a young person. Just like it had been last week. And I think it resulted in unexpected worship of God.
Cat’s still here, by the way!
